Midas is building the research terminal that investment teams actually trust: agents that read filings, transcripts, and market data, show their sources, and defer to the analyst's judgement rather than replacing it. That is a hard problem in three directions at once — retrieval quality, financial data correctness, and an interface that a portfolio manager will use under time pressure.
We are a small, focused, remote-friendly team based across London and Europe. We value curiosity, ownership, and shipping fast, and we would rather hire one person with unusual range than three specialists who need coordinating.
How we work
Judgement over throughput
We build for analysts who are accountable for their conclusions. Every feature we ship has to survive that scrutiny, which means we care more about whether an answer is defensible than how fast it appeared.
Ownership end to end
Engineers here talk to customers, write the migration, ship the interface, and watch the numbers afterwards. There is no handover queue and no one to hide behind.
Domain depth
You do not need a finance background, but you do need to want one. The people who do well here learn how a filing is structured, why a segment restatement matters, and what an analyst actually does at 7am.
Small on purpose
We keep the team deliberately small and pay at the top of our range. Fewer people, larger scope, less coordination overhead.
Our hiring process
Intro call
Thirty minutes with a founder. We explain where the product is, what the next six months look like, and answer anything you want to ask about the commercial position.
Practical exercise
A scoped, paid piece of work close to what you would do in the role. No algorithm puzzles and no take-home that runs to a weekend.
Team conversations
You meet the people you would work with day to day, walk through your exercise, and dig into how you make technical or editorial decisions.
Offer
We move quickly and give a decision within a few days of the final conversation, with transparent salary and equity numbers.
